All BCSGA Farmers are required to participate in the Shellfish Farm Environmental Plan which requires members to:
1) Have no exposed foam floatation on their farms
2) Not store any gear on their farms that will not be actively used in the crop cycle
3) Ensure all predator exclusion devices are maintained effectively to prevent harm to fish or wildlife
In addition, we have an environmental code of practice that describes industry standard requirements and expectations from our members.

Farmers Seeking Membership with Bond Coverage Requirements:
BCSGA Bond Coverage is an alternative to the Province’s security requirement for shellfish aquaculture Crown Land licenses. The application material will be assessed by the Board of Directors on a monthly basis. Please note that submitting an application does not mean the farm is eligible or will be approved for bond coverage.
