The BCSGA updated its Environmental Management Code of Practice in 2013. The purpose of this document is to foster “good neighbour” practices, provide an environmental benchmark for our members and demonstrate our commitment as responsible stewards of the marine environment.
BCSGA Environmental Management Code of Practice
As members of the national vibrio working group, the BCSGA was able to listen to and discuss the issues and solutions posed by regional and national regulators. It has been a slow process and, at times, we have felt the results were lacking clarity. For this reason, the BCSGA Board was unanimous in backing the proposal to develop and circulate BCSGA recommendations – together with a bill of lading – to encourage best practices among our members.
