Shellfish Farm Workers: Full time seasonal work as Seed Sorters and Net Washers

Island Scallops is seeking motivated individuals who are quick learning and dependable. Most work will occur outdoors on a large boat off the Fanny Bay Dock, with some days at the Hatchery in Bowser, BC. Interested applicants will need to have their own reliable transportation, be willing to work in all weather conditions, and have a flexible and adaptable attitude. The position will require some heavy lifting (50lbs) and any marine based experience is a plus but is not necessary. Duties will involve sorting scallop seed, washing and stitching nets and various other tasks pertaining to shellfish aquaculture.

ISLAND SCALLOPS LTD, QUALICUM BEACH, BC

We are currently seeking hard-working, career-minded individuals with strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities to join our team. Permanent, full-time opportunities are available for qualified individuals who can work independently in a changing hatchery environment. Marine biology background, aquaculture training, and/or related experience required. Good data entry and reporting skills preferred. Familiarity with aquaculture systems and maintenance an asset. These positions involve some weekend, holiday, and after-hours work. Pay/benefit package commensurate with experience. We regret that only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
